The 2025 Missouri Open has announced May 2-3, 2025, as the dates for the sixth edition of this popular nine-wicket tournament to be held at the residence of Greg and Joni Clouse in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, in the Kansas City metro area. With the growing number of entries since the event moved to Lee’s Summing in 2023, the Missouri Open will offer the option for players to get in block games on Friday to ensure an on-time finish on Saturday.

After a five-year hiatus, the Missouri Open is set to return on Saturday, May 6, 2023. to Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The event will be held in Lee’s Summit, Missouri a traditional Nine Wicket Series event and serve as the 2023 season opener. The event will be hosted by Greg Clouse in partnership with the Kansas City Croquet Club. The Missouri Open ran from 2015 to 2017, so the 2023 event will be the fourth edition.

To better promote and support club play in the area, the Nine Wicket Series stats committee has been developing a Club-City points race to accompany the current singles points races. The concept is to award points to clubs based on how members place in 9WS tournaments. Because not every player is part of an official club, points for those players are rewarded to the city on their membership form.

2017 MCA AGM Notes

The 2017 MCA Annual General Meeting was hosted on Saturday, February 18, 2017, by Greg and Jodi Adams in North Kansas City in a private room at the local Pizza Shoppe. The meeting highlighted another record year for revenue and membership. Total membership reached 79 members in 2016 thanks to the re-working of the MCA agreement with the Mahaffie Farmstead on the annual Sunflower Wickets Benefit that now counts each of the players in the event as one-day license members.

June 13: Missouri Open at Eagles Landing

BELTON, MO -- The Midwest Croquet Association has added the Missouri Open at Eagles Landing in Belton, Missouri for Saturday, June 13, 2015. The new event will be held on four full-size nine wicket courts that will be located on the driving range tee boxes for the public golf club and is the next event in the 2015 MCA Nine Wicket Series.

"This is an incredible opportunity for MCA players," said MCA President Dylan Goodwin. "Outside of Tulsa and Kactus Creek in Parkville, this will be the best surface the Nine Wicket Series has visited."

Stilwell Open Entry Deadline Approaches

The Kansas City Croquet Club will host the Stilwell Open Nine-Wicket Singles tournament on Saturday, May 25. The nine-wicket singles event will be played according to USCA 9W National Championship options 1, 1a, 2, 3, 7, 9 and 10 (1a is modified to disregard the game score).

The Stilwell Open will kickoff 2013 MCA Nine-Wicket Series that concludes with the MCA Championship on September 14. The Stilwell Open format will likely be open blocks that filter to a Pro Division bracket and Gold Division bracket.

Lunch will be included. Entry fee structure:

  • $20 for non-MCA members
  • $10 for MCA members
