Denver Set to Host the 2025 US Golf Croquet Classic

The 2025 U.S. Golf Croquet Classic is set to bring top-tier croquet competition to the heart of Colorado this summer, with the Denver Croquet Club proudly serving as host for this highly anticipated stop on the Midwest Croquet Association (MCA) Series Tour. The event will take place July 10-12, 2025, at the club’s historic lawn in Washington Park.

The tournament is planned as a single open division at the Pro (Championship Flight) level, with players competing in block play to determine advancement. The top finishers will move into the Pro Playoff Bracket, while the bottom half will advance to the Gold (First Flight) Playoff. Should player grades vary significantly, organizers reserve the right to separate players into distinct Gold and Silver (Second Flight) divisions for block play. A minimum of four players is required for any division to function as a standalone.

As an MCA Series Tour event, players will be competing in a season long points race with points being awarded based on place in each event — including the U.S. Golf Croquet Classic.

With a projected capacity limit of 16 players, the Classic will feature a select field of top-level talent from across the country. Early registration is encouraged, as players who sign up after the capacity is reached will be placed on a waitlist. Expansion of the draw may occur, but only if entries allow for evenly balanced blocks.

The Classic represents a key installment of the upgraded MCA Series Tour, which has historically played the majority of its events in the Kansas City metro area and was previously known as the MCA Nine Wicket Series (9WS). The expansion is intended to create more inter-club play in the midwest as the Tour is now set to visit Lee’s Summit (KC Metro), Tulsa, Denver and conclude in Houston.

In addition, the Series is moving beyond nine-wicket play only and will feature events that also include American Six Wicket and Golf Croquet. MCA President Dylan Goodwin says the goal is to ultimately support all codes of croquet with the Series Tour.

The Denver Croquet Club’s hosting of the 2025 Classic adds a layer of historic significance. The club traces its roots to 1924 when the Washington Park Lawn first became home to the Washington Park Lawn Bowling Club. In 1985, the site welcomed a new era of croquet with the relocation of the Park Hill Croquet Club—now known as the Denver Croquet Club.

“We’re thrilled to bring this MCA Series Tour event to Denver,” says Goodwin. “We are committed to growing croquet in the midwest and having the opportunity to visit cities like Denver, Tulsa and Houston is awesome for the players and should offer excellent exposure for the sport.”
