2024 MCA Play Kicks Off With Missouri Open
/Founded in 2015, the Missouri Open is set to once again open the 2024 MCA season in Lee's Summit, Missouri. The fifth edition of the event will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the home of Greg and Joni Clouse with three courts available for play. The event will be part of the 2024 Nine Wicket Series and the MCA is working to announce additional events once venues can be secured.
The event hopes to have enough entries to run Pro, Gold and Silver Divisions. A minimum of four players is required for each division to operate as a standalone. If either division is short of players, it is possible that block play will be combined.
From a historical perspective, Clouse is a two-time winner in the Pro Division and is looking to become the first repeat winner of the event. Other Pro Division winners include Matt Griffith (2015) and Matt Smith (2017). In Gold play, Jason Johnson was the 2023 winner and Steve Jackson also having two Gold wins (2016, 2017) and Deborah Millican the title in 2015. Winners in the Silver Division include Caleb Dewitt (2023), Brevin Millican (2017), Gabe Airrington (2016) and Di Berg (2015). Brevin Millican (2016) and Gwyneth Bowen (2015) also took Bronze titles for the event.
