2019 MCA Annual General Meeting Scheduled for April 20

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo.—MCA members will meet to discuss the 2018 and 2019 seasons at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, in Lee's Summit.

The meeting will be hosted by the Millicans at 905 SW Loula Lane, Lee’s Summit, MO 65801.

AGM Highlights: Jackson is New President

The 2018 Midwest Croquet Association Annual General Meeting held at the eCafe in Overland Park, Kansas, on January 27, 2018, achieved the primay goal of transitioning to a new president. Steve Jackson from Kansas City has taken over the role from Dylan Goodwin who served for five years.

The transition was the central part of the meeting discussion and an interesting twist occurred as a new vice president position was created which Ellie Griffith taking that role. The idea is that adding another member will help with the workload for the president and also ensure of smooth succession in future years.

Postponed: 2017 MCA Awards

The MCA had hoped to start a stand-alone MCA Presidents' Awards event in 2017 and that was originally scheduled to be held November 10, 2017. The MCA is postponing the concept and looking for a launch in November of 2018. The 2017 MCA Presidents' Awards will be presented at the 2018 Annual General Meeting to be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Details on the location and time for the event should be available later this month.

2017 MCA AGM Notes

The 2017 MCA Annual General Meeting was hosted on Saturday, February 18, 2017, by Greg and Jodi Adams in North Kansas City in a private room at the local Pizza Shoppe. The meeting highlighted another record year for revenue and membership. Total membership reached 79 members in 2016 thanks to the re-working of the MCA agreement with the Mahaffie Farmstead on the annual Sunflower Wickets Benefit that now counts each of the players in the event as one-day license members.

The Midwest Croquet Association has announced Saturday, February 18, 2017, for the 2017 Annual General Meeting open to all 2016 MCA Members. The lunch is sponsored by Greg and Jodi Adams and will be free for all 2016 members that attend. The meeting will be held in North Kansas City at the Pizza Shoppe in Platte Woods at 7687 NW Prairie View Rd, Kansas City, MO 64151.

2016 MCA AGM: USCA Rules for 2016

BELTON, MISSOURI -- The 2016 MCA Annual General Meeting was held at the Belton Wellness Center in Belton, Missouri on January 30, 2016 with a lunch sponsored by MCA partner Goodwin World Media LLC. Several topics were covered but the key story continues to be record-breaking growth in both membership and revenue for the MCA. Since launching the MCA Nine Wicket Series in 2013, the MCA has broken both membership and revenue records each year. For 2016, the MCA brought in $2493 in revenue which is up from $370 in 2012. On the membership side, the MCA had 43 members in 2016 versus nine in 2012.

MCA AGM To Be Held in Belton

The 2016 Midwest Croquet Association Annual General Meeting will be held at the Belton Community Wellness Center from noon to  2:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016. The meeting is open to all 2015 MCA members and will cover the current financial picture as well as an overview of the overall MCA outlook. MCA News: 2016 AGM Date

LEAWOOD, KS -- The MCA has announced the 2016 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016. Details on the venue and exact time are not yet set, but the MCA will provide those within the next week. The event is set to be held in the south Kansas City area and is expected to follow a format similar to previous years.

2016 SUNFLOWER WICKETS: The Mahaffie Farmstead has targeted Friday, June 3, 2016 for the Annual Sunflower Wickets Benefit and the MCA will again provide equipment, tournament management and officiating.

FLORIDA GC REGIONAL: MCA members Matt Griffith and Stephen Jackson played in the USCA's Florida GC Regional over the weekend. Griffith was upset in the quarterfinals by Michael Albert. Jackson made it to the semifinals where he fell to Albert 7-2, 7-4. Prior to the event, Griffith was ranked #8 in the US while Jackson was #23.

2015 MCA AGM: Focus on KC Development

The 2015 Midwest Croquet Association Annual General Meeting was hosted at the home of Ron and Deborah Millican in Lee's Summit, MO on February 7, 2015. The meeting began at 11:00 a.m. with a look at financials and membership. The MCA set records in both revenue ($1815) and members in 2014. The MCA had 32 members in 2014, which was up from the record of 22 in 2013 (2012 had nine members).

2014 MCA AGM Highlights

KANSAS CITY, MO -- The 2014 MCA Annual General Meeting started with a discussion on the overall vision and goals for the MCA. To grow the sport in the region, all present agreed that the ultimate goal is to build a multi-court facility dedicated to croquet in the Kansas City area. And once that model is proven, the idea would be to continue adding croquet facilities across the midwest region under the MCA name.
