Marciniak Takes 2016 KC Open Silver

Justin Marciniak captured his second Silver title of the year

PARKVILLE, MO -- Justin Marciniak survived a long day to snatch the Kansas City Open Silver Division title from Gabe Airrington with a 12-6 win in the title game held at Kactus Creek Croquet Club in Parkville, Missouri this afternoon.

Bronze finalists Annika Jackson and Cade MillicanThe 10-player double-elimination bracket was a first for any MCA Nine-Wicket Series division. As expected it stretched out from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Marciniak played six games on the day and had a 5-1 record. Airrington cruised through the winner's side of the bracket and his only loss came in the final. He was 3-1 on the day.

All of the losing players from the first round of the day fell into Bronze Division points games. Winner's from those Bronze games made their way back into the Silver Bracket. Ellie Kemp fared the best from that group. After dropping her first game to Brevin Millican, she won three straight before falling to Justin Marciniak to finish the day 3-2.

Cade Millican and first-timer Annika Jackson faced off in the Bronze Division final with Millican taking a 13-11 win for first place.
