KC Open COVID-19 Guidelines
For this Saturday’s Kansas City Open, the following guidelines are in place in order to keep all players and spectators safe and healthy.
-
Players or spectators with cold symptoms (fever or cough) or that are under quarantine restrictions should not attend the event. Please notify the tournament manager at kccroquetclub@gmail.com if you need to withdraw due to illness or quarantine.
-
Players should always keep a six-foot distance from all other players and spectators.
-
Masks are not required during play.
-
Players should not share mallets.
-
Avoid touching balls during play by using mallets and feet to place in position as much as possible. The nine-wicket hand shot is permitted.
-
Players should touch only their clips and not the opponent's clips.
-
Players should set and clear deadness only for their respective balls on the deadness board.
-
Report the scores directly to the tournament manager. Scores will not be recorded by the players.
-
Water: We will not be able to provide a water cooler as is normal. Please plan to bring a cooler full of drinks.
Hand sanitizer and chemical wipes will be available. At the end of each game and after gathering the court equipment, we ask that each of the players hand sanitize and split duties to wipe down the clips, touchpoints on the deadness board and balls.
We know this in an extra in-convenience for all players, but we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that we do our part to stay safe and present croquet as a safe sport during this challenging time.
Thank you,
Dylan Goodwin
Tournament Manager
